What is Growth Hormone deficiency?

Growth hormone deficiency (GHD) is a recognized medical condition in children and in Adults. GHD most commonly persists from an untreated or ineffectively treated growth hormone deficiency in childhood. However, it can also develop in adulthood (AGHD) without any previous history of GHD. Simple lab tests are needed to determine if you have a deficiency (GHD/ AGHD) and are in some way related to a problem with pituitary function and the lack of IGF-1 in the blood.
